William Ellis’ photographs of iconic artists have appeared at The Grammys, The Times, The Guardian, New Statesman and on the BBC, magazines and record covers and has recently contibuted a chapter Rethinking Miles Davis recently published by Oxford UniversityPress.

His work has been exhibited throught the U.K., the United States, Canada, Cuba, South Africa, Europe, China and the Far East and is held in numerous private collections and those of National Portrait Gallery, London, the Archive of Contemporary Music, New York, The American Jazz Museum, Kansas City MO, The University of the West Indies (Kingston Jamaica) Institute of Caribbean Studies and Reggae Studies, Jazz Institut Darmstadt and on display at Birdland, New York.
